2023 has just started and there are already some women who have come out the gate disrupting the game of entrepreneurship! Not taking no for an answer and causing new norms to be created….all while doing it their way! Statistics show that every since 1997, entrepreneurship among women is on a steady, rapid climb! According to Wikipedia, female entrepreneurs are women who run and manage an enterprise, especially a business.

The women hand selected for this series are women who don’t mind making their presence felt no matter where they show up! They are women who know the power that resides in showing up in their communities, the importance of impacting the lives of women suffering at the hands of abuse-whether that mentally, physically, emotionally, and/or financially! They are the true definition of servitude. They believe that once a door is open, they must stop and hold it open for another woman to come through!

Sheen had the opportunity to speak with these amazing women! Read the interview below…

Meet Martha, Owner of I’Mare Boutique

Sheen: Tell the reading audience a little bit about what makes you grind as hard as you do?

Martha: I grind as much as I do because, I know how it feels to hit rock bottom and lose it all. My kids and family are my number 1 supporters, I can’t let them down. I grind so I can show teenagers, single parents, and anyone who is unsure in their walk of life that if you put in the work, your reward will be greater.

Grinding is something natural for me to do because, I love to win. I have made it my duty to help position others to win as well by mentoring and leading by example, showing others the importance of grinding whether it’s business or personal.

Sheen: Why is quitting NOT an option?

Martha: Quitting is not an option for me because I have my kids, family, customers and a team counting on me to make it happen. At one point in my life, I realized I had quit so many times that I needed to make a vow to myself to never quit again and just to start over stronger.

Sheen: What is your definition of self-care? And why must every woman do it?

Martha: My definition of self-care is a me myself and I staycation. I pack up a little bag and make a reservation at a nice spa hotel. As I have been learning more of myself, I found out that journaling and reading is also self-care for me. It helps me think clearly. Every woman should have a self-care day or two monthly so you can breathe, take a moment to yourself, and reset. It’s about learning who you are over and over again with alone time.

Sheen: What can people expect from you in 2023?

Martha: In 2023, I plan to become a serial entrepreneur. Acquiring new businesses and continuing to help other business owners become successful through my business’ I’MarE Mentorship Program. This year is about becoming the best version of myself.

Sheen: How can people stay connected with you?

Martha: You can follow me on ig @imareboutique for business, my personal ig is @ceo_marthae, and Facebook I’MarE boutique LLC
