Sheen got the opportunity to sit and speak with this media mogul in the making.

Sheen: Please introduce yourself to the reading audience.

LaTanya:  I was born, raised and currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky. I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, for which I happily serve in the Louisville Alumnae Chapter. I have earned a B.S. in Business Management. M.A. in Teaching, M.A. in School Counseling grades K-12 as well as Ed.S. in Educational Leadership/Principal Certification all from the University of Louisville. I worked as a special education teacher for thirteen years and a school counselor administrator for seven years in the public school system in Louisville.

I am the author of nine self-published books such as The Prayers of the Righteous and Grieving Availeth Much and The Battle Behind My Smile, which were both released in 2022. I am the host of the Real Talk With Tanya White Radio Show that airs live on Louisville’s premier gospel station WLLV. I am also the host of the Go Get It With Tanya White podcast that airs on www.envisionedbroadcasting.com A fun fact about me is that I am a super-duper fan of the R&B group New Edition.

Sheen: How do you define success?

LaTanya: For me, success has been finally understanding that since I am created in the image of God, I am enough! For most of my life, I have internalized society’s limited view of me and generalizations. I believed that I was not good enough, smart enough, beautiful enough, talented enough, and any other negative enoughisms that forced me to diminish who I was and what I could accomplish. I continuously wholeheartedly accept my strengths and areas of improvement. Having that realization has allowed me to persevere without compromising my goals and life desires. In essence, success is achieving self-actualization.

Sheen: How do you keep going when you want to give up? Or, have you ever experienced this before?

LaTanya: Oh yes, I have.  I actually self-published a book about this very issue entitled You Can’t Quit Now: How To Keep Going When You Really Feel Like Giving Up. I released this book in 2013, after healing from a very low point in my life where wanted to quit pursuing my purpose and I did not have the strength to persevere to reach my next level. I was emotionally paralyzed by my past issues, traumas, and failures. After having the courage to seek help through therapy, I learned that hurt was apart of life that I could heal from and develop a fresh sense of hope to not give up. I now persevere by living in my truth, not internalizing pain caused by others, and giving myself grace when I make mistakes.

Sheen: How do you plan to make noise this last quarter of 2022?

LaTanya: Wow. I am definitely creating some rumblings from the coming attraction announcement of my 10th book which will be released on 6-6-23 entitled Professionally Lynched. Many organizations promote a public image that is socially progressive, multiculturally inclusive, and equitable in opportunities, especially toward marginalized groups. However, it is no secret that inside the walls of these same organizations, minority employees experience severe professional injustices, professional humiliation, and systematic professional assassinations on a daily basis. That is what I experienced when I earned a seat at the decision-making table as a school counselor administrator.

In Professional Lynched, I compare prominent figures from the past who sparked nationwide awareness of overt social lynchings and civil rights injustices to modern covert professional lynchings such as professional harassment, professional bullying, unfair performance evaluations, and being blackballed for promotions. I also include testimonies from other marginalized employees who have experienced the same treatment in various industries and positions. My book announcement has created excitement from those who have or are enduring similar treatment and angst from the system leaders who have knowingly and continually allowed professional lynchings to occur frequently within their organization.

Sheen: What is it that one thing that Tanya knows for sure?

LaTanya: I know for sure that I am ENOUGH! And I love, live, and share my enoughness every single day.

Sheen: How can people connect with you?
