“This is what diversity looks like…”

Social media went crazy over the many black actors and actresses who won big at the 2016 SAG Awards. We saw deserving awards go to Queen Latifah, Viola Davis, Uzo Aduba and Idris Elba who won two awards that night.

Idris Elba won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries for his role in “Luther” and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for “Beast of no Nation “

This all comes during the wake of the Oscars controversy where no black actors and actresses were nominated in major categories.

Some people felt that the SAG awards were overcompensating due to the Oscars controversy, however we believe that these awards were well-deserved.
