Marlin Jones | July 2,2013
1. It's been a long journey for you what does this new comedic stand up "Let Me Explain" mean to you?I would have to say it means a lot Let Me Explain has to be by far my best work up until this point. Reason why is because with each of my previous stand ups you can see and hear the growth as I mature each time. For me I'm beyond proud this is a full Hart's beat production I funded the whole thing, produced it and it's all my vision.
2. Let Me Explain sold out Madison Square Garden. How was that feeling for you?Man that shit hit me hard when your in entertainment you have goals but you never know the magnitude of what you can really reach -it was unbelievable I thought someone was playing a joke on me. I've sold out a few arenas before but you know Madison Square Garden is on a whole other level. I sold out like the first two shows in one day. Comedies just don't do things like that you have Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Dane Cook, George Carlin, and Andrew Dice Clay. Now I'm on that list as number 6 for me its an incredible feeling it hit me hard and I'm just thankful man for my fans.
3. Where do you get your drive and motivation from?
It all comes from true shit honestly different experiences. I don't just sit and make stuff up literally it takes me about a year to get an hour of material. You can't talk about shit you haven't seen or lived.
4. Are there any other comedians who inspired you while growing up?
Um...man that's not a fair question I have so many Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Eddie Murray, Chris Rock I can say Robert Harris, Red Fox, Seinfeld, and Kings of Comedy. I'm just a student of the game mostly all these guys before me white and black has been some type of influence on me. Especially Steve Harvey from a business aspect he is probably the smartest man I've met in my Life.
