Based on informal survey among peers, the founders, Julia Stephenson and Anastasia Turner discovered that many people visited adult stores in their neighborhood. To test the idea of opening a store, Sexiuboutique opened an online boutique as well to educate and sensitize customers about the different type of sex toys and how to use them.

The target market of the Sexi U Boutique is people of all shapes, sizes, and varied socio-economic backgrounds so that they are able to purchase the lingerie and brands to feel appealing and experience increased sexual pleasure. Moreover, because of the sometime stigma of sex in the black community, Sexi U Boutique also provides a discrete platform for customers to explore and be themselves.

As the brand grows, Sexi U Boutique plans to add scented candles, oils, swimwear, lip-gloss, and their very own line of lingerie to their existing inventory.
