She pretty much does it all! Danielle Forbes is an actress, public speaker, talk show host, and now author! With so many talents and titles, we had to sit down with the woman of many hats to discuss how she juggles it all. In this exclusive interview with Danielle Forbes, she opens up to us about her exciting new book Destiny and offers her best advice to our readers.

How do you juggle life as an actress, public speaker, talk show host, and author?

To juggle life as all of the above, it’s not the easiest task. When you are passionate about what you do, you find a way. All of those things is something I’ve always loved to do. I love acting, public speaking, but I never thought I would be an author in a million years. If someone would’ve told me I would have been an author years ago, I would have definetly laughed (laughs). As a talk show host, it’s something I love to do because I love hearing people’s stories. The greatest thing about doing all of those and juggling them is fitting it into my schedule. When you’re passionate about something, you find a way.

Tell us about your book Destiny.

Destiny is a story of a good girl gone bad. Destiny was raised by a single mother. The story takes place in North Philadelphia. Destiny’s mother had seen some things and experienced some things that no young woman should experience. Destiny finds out later in the story that she was a product of rape but her mother never told her because she felt like she was too young to handle that truth. Desiny grew up thinking that her father passed away. Basically, her mother wanted a different life for her so she brought Destiny up in the church. Destiny was a church girl until about 16-years-old. She always had a crush on a young man named Romeo. When she got of age, she wanted to make her way back to North Philadelphia because her mother moved her to a better neighborhood. Destiny wanted her childhood crush to see that she was not that little girl that lived next door and that she was grown up. That’s when Romeo takes full advantage of Destiny’s beauty, youth, and she falls into a toxic relationship that leads her into a life of crime. Theres a turn in the story that allows Destiny to come back and be that young woman of God that she was raised to be. When you thought the story had a happy ending, the story takes a turn that you never saw coming. It is a Christian-based book but it definitely has an urban twist that everyone can relate to.

Although Destiny is a faith-based book but people that are Christians or even non-believers, this book is relatable to everyone. This book has something for everyone. There are so many powerful messages in this book.

You became a mother at 15-years-old and maneuvered your way to success today. Do you mind offering your best advice to our readers?

Teen pregnancy is at an all-time rise. It’s not a death sentence, you can definetly use that to motivate you. As a teen mom myself, that was something that I did not allow to work against me. I’m my daughter’s role model. The advice I would give to young moms that are struggling is that as long as you have breath in your body, God still has a purpose and plan for your life. It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through, use your children to motivate you and be a role model to them. Show them that no matter what life throws at you, you can take life lemons and turn it into lemonade for sure.

I wrote Destiny at one of the darkest times of my life, so advice I would give to people everywhere is to pay attention to those dark times in life. God might just be using your pain to give birth to your purpose.

Another piece of advice I would give is to protect your energy, protect your heart, and protect yourself. No longer do you need to worry about haters, you need to worry about those people that disguise themselves as lovers or supporters of your accomplishments, because if they don’t have the right intentions, they can zap your energy. When that happens, it kills the creativity in your mind, and you can’t focus on those things that are important to you, such as your goals, your dreams, and your projects.

So be careful who you let into your life and ultimately into your heart, and that goes for women and men! I had to learn that the hard way.

And one very important piece of information is turn off all of those voices in your head and around you, that says “You can’t do it.” Success is on the other side of fear.

Last but not least, be your own number fan!
