Have you found yourself in need of some guidance to reach your health goals? Well, there’s an app for that. A muddled myriad mess of them in fact, all claiming to be the best way to your best self. Fortunately for you, after many days of research and cross-referencing, I’ve narrowed down my top 3 for wellness in the areas of mental health, healthy eating, and quick fitness fixes. These apps are for men, and women both cisgender and not.

Since everything you do in life starts with the mind, I will too. Think Up is a positive affirmations app that focuses on improving motivation, self-esteem, general health, prosperity, and happiness. The thing that I like most about it is the app features tools to help you record your own affirmations. This means personalized affirmations in your own voice which I feel is more effective. You can also choose a stock affirmation, featuring quotes from inspirational giants like Joy Harden and Joel Osteen.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, you absolutely can not outwork a bad diet. So our next stop on this tournée de santé [health tour], is food. My Diet Coach has a bright, colorful and easy to use interface. It features tools to set goals, both personalized and stock options, an alarm that will remind you of what your goals are and why, and the option to set daily, weekly, and monthly goals. I believe that to achieve something you have to keep it in the forefront of your mind and this helps you do that. It also has a barcode scanner to upload nutrition facts quickly, and you an import data from your fitness tracker like “Health” or “Fitbit.”

Nothing rounds out a healthy living plan like an effective workout plan. As I always do and always will, I suggest workouts that build muscle over strictly cardio routines. HIIT is my favorite happy medium. High-Intensity HIIT Workouts is a great easy to use and straight to the point app. With effective workouts and cartooned examples of what to do this app is great for someone starting their HIIT journey. The exercises are familiar and simple, voice-guided and it has a built-in timer. You can choose between a four-minute Tabata workout, 10 minute HIIT or 20 minute HIIT. An excellent choice.
