This past October, celebrity hairstylist Derek J (along with his business partner Lisa McCall) opened the J Spot Salon in Atlanta's chic Buckhead area. Perhaps known best for being Kim Zoliak's hair stylist on Bravo's The Real House Wives of Atlanta, J attended his launch party dressed to the nines in a pair of his signature heels (a pair of to die for black wedgies). Attendees of the salon's VIP launch party got to tour the salon's upscale location while mixing and mingling with Atlanta's style and fashion elite. Amongst the celeb faces at the venue was reality star of VH1's Football Wives Chanita Foster.
     "I am really surprised," J said, all smiles outsides of his new location. "I am usually scared to have something (an event), but tonight has been great.
     " Although a huge shindig was thrown for the opening of The J Spot, this is not J's first salon. However, he attests that he is very excited about this opening.
     "I have had salons for the past four years, but this is the first place that feels like me," he explained, out of breath from interviews. "I have a great business partner, and without her, this would be a no go."
     As a staple at numerous A-List events, a salon opened, and appearances on The Housewives, one may be wondering what is next for the hot, go-to stylist. For J, it is all about going with the flow. "I don't know yet what my next venture will be," he explained. "I'm blessed to have a good career. I live life day by day."
