What was your inspiration for creating the “Matchless” brand?

I received the vision for the main event that I host, The Matchless Retreat, about two years ago. I was doing some reading in a hotel room in Ohio when a series of images started playing in my head. Here is what I saw…

I saw a girl, getting off of a plane at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, Ga. She was focused and comfortable in her skin. She traveled from her plane, through the airport, to the area where the chauffeurs were located. She was looking for her name on a sign along with the Matchless Retreat Logo. When she approached the arrival location at the airport, she found the driver who held a sign with her name on it. He was holding the sign in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other. He was ready to greet her and take her bags. He escorted her to the car and said, “Miss, are you ready to attend one of the best events of your life?” Now there was so much more to the vision, but I won’t take all of your time discussing those details. Just know that I spent the next 2 hours writing out each detail of that vision. My journaling session from that day is the birthplace for the Matchless Retreat.

This year, The Matchless Mansion Retreat will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at one of Atlanta’s most elegant estates.

This year’s theme is “beyond the surface,” and we will be discussing the relationship between self-care and financial management and the programming is designed for the woman who wants to enhance her life both personally and professionally. The schedule can be found on my website.

Describe the attendee experience for the Atlanta Mansion Retreat on August 31st:

This year’s retreat will focus on rest and a recommitment to your financial and self-care. We will stretch ourselves and our understanding of what it means to earn, save, and manage money well. Everything about the event will center around sharing the best practices as it relates to money management. I hope that women are inspired to recommit to their dreams of financial wealth and financial independence.

Why did you choose self-care and finances as the theme for this event?

I am around a lot of women in my personal life and I’ve noticed that outside of problems’ in a woman’s love life or a problem with her child, financial hardship will take us out of the game of living our best lives more than anything else. I chose to focus on the role of self-care and finances as a way to bring awareness and solutions to this problem.

Any tips on how one can begin to take charge of those areas?

No one ever taught me the formula for financial success. I had to pull the knowledge together one book and advisor at a time. Two of the best practices to begin immediately is to 1) live below your means (i.e. spend less than what you earn) and then 2) to save the rest. Set aside the extra consistently. Also read, read, read (and get a team of advisors) so that when you have a set amount saved you know where to put it in order to achieve your next financial goal.

What is next for you and how can readers connect with you online?

Over the next 10 years, I plan to grow both my legal practice and Matchless into flourishing and healthy businesses. Readers can connect with the Matchless brand on Instagram @matchlessliving. They can connect with me on Instagram and on YouTube.
