Chairperson for the Red Shoe Scholarship Luncheon, Emily Dean Shares the Details on the 10th Annual Red Show Scholarship Brunch

The Greenville (SC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (GSCAC) will host its 10th Annual Red Shoe Scholarship Brunch on Saturday, April 25, 2020.

With more than 600 guests that attend each year, it’s clear to see its had so much success over the years. Year after year, this event has enabled GSCAC to award over $60,000 in scholarship monies to Greenville County students who have attended colleges such as Winthrop, Clemson, USC, Xavier University and SC State University!

We wanted to know all the details on this event and how we could help make a difference. Chairperson for the Red Shoe Scholarship Luncheon, Emily Dean dished all the details on the tenth annual event, the progression over the years, and much more!

What was the inspiration behind the creation of the Red Shoe Scholarship Brunch?

For the past 9 years we had a scholarship luncheon, for our 10^th anniversary of the event we wanted to do something different and creative as a part of our celebration of this milestone

This will be the tenth year this brunch takes place. How would you describe the progression you’ve seen in this event?

We have seen exceptional progress throughout the years with the number of attendees and sponsorship ads received as well with the amount of scholarships that we have been able to provide. Our event has become widely known and recognized by many which has helped us leverage the event as a way to honor the academic excellence of students within our community.

What can attendees expect to see when attending this event?

Attendees can expect to enjoy a great brunch and be a part of an exceptional program that will honor and celebrate our scholarship recipients. They will also be able to enjoy our well known Mistress of Ceremonies, Lovely Big O, able to shop our Vendors who will be on site, able to participate in our famed Red Shoe Walk and as a part of our 10 year celebration, they will be able to remain after the program to join us for a social and dancing that will be something they will remember as a lot of fun.

What do you all hope to accomplish in the years to come through your organization?

Our hope is that our event will continue to grow and allow us the opportunity to provide as many scholarships as possible to deserving students with the funds we raise. This is our signature fundraising event and we are heavily invested.
