Are you ready for some hot tea? A few months back we learned that Lifetime would be bringing a Wendy Williams biopic to their network.
Well, Deadline has just reported that Lifetime has found their Wendy Williams. Actress, Ciera Payton has just been cast as the iconic television host while actor, Morocco Omari will portray Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter. The project has been reported to be named, Wendy Williams: The Hot Topic.
We know that this biopic will explore Williams’ journey to fame. Williams will serve as executive producer of this project alongside Will Packer and Sheila Ducksworth. Darren Grant will direct this biopic. Ciera Payton is best known for her role in Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral and The Oval. Payton also starred in She’s Gotta Have It.
