Tell us a little about yourself.

I am the Editor-in-Chief and founder of Eating with Erica. I founded Eating with Erica in 2013 to dive deeper into my passion for the Atlanta food scene. Now I travel all over the world to explore culinary creations and write about them on my blog. I recently completed a trip to Thailand comparing Atlanta’s Thai food scene with traditional Thai cuisine.

I’m based in Atlanta where I feed my love for all things dining, entertaining, and food. I’ve had the good fortune to work with incredible brands and publications like Draper James, Lexus, Good Morning America, CNN, Essence, Samsung, Whole Foods, and Woodford Reserve. For my latest creative culinary outlet, I’ve been working on my first cookbook.

When I’m not in the food or entertainment scene, I’m probably at home trying out recipes with friends and family. I am engaged to the love of my life.

What made you want to become a food blogger?

My love of food and meeting chefs to learn more about the culinary world. I wanted to share my tasty experiences with my readers.

This may be a hard question but what are your favorite foods to eat?

It depends on the day and the season. My go to at home for a quick and satisfying meal is pizza paired with red wine.

Is there one restaurant you have been to that has left a special mark on you?

There are so many restaurants that I’ve explored nationally and internationally. I’ve been very impressed by Deborah VanTrece at Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours. She doesn’t just cook but is very involved in our community. For instance Monday she offered free lunch to government officials. She is an inspiration to many women in the culinary field as the chef and owner.

Is there a city outside of Atlanta that surprised you with their food scene?

Louisville – because they call Louisville “The Gateway to the South.” The food was incredible with a strong focus on local. Because they have a UPS headquarters they have more an available to get food shipped very quick and fresh. I was not a fan of bourbon before I went there. After going to many bourbon trails and experiencing good bourbon I realized that Louisville is in a league of their own.

What is something most people don’t know about the Atlanta food scene?

Atlanta is a cultural melting pot and that goes for food as well. For instance, you can drive down Buford Highway for incredible international cuisine or explore the many ways Atlanta chefs choose to fry chicken all in one city.

Who is Erica beyond the computer screen? What do you enjoy doing?

I love spending time with my family and friends. I love drinking champagne and watching Law & Order exclusively SVU. I’m preparing my upcoming nuptials to marry my best friend.

I’m releasing my first cookbook. Stay tuned on my social channels and blog for details in the coming months.

I’ve also been very excited about my monthly dinner series called 10 of Us. I connect women in business to network and enjoy amazing food together. I’ve been hosting the event since August 2018 and am inspired by the more than 100 women I’ve helped connect through the events.
