Sheen Magazine’s very own Editor-In-Chief, Sammi Haynes traveled from Atlanta, Georgia to Greenville, South Carolina in the new Chevrolet’s all-electric vehicle, Bolt EV. With technology ahead of its time, Chevy introduced its new available feature, surround vision, to create a virtual eye of the vehicle merging to help us see not only the area behind us but also around us using four cameras!

Chevrolet is reinventing the possibilities to all that an electric vehicle can be. Not only can your cell phone display right on your dashboard but applications on your cell phone allow you to control functions via the touchscreen system or through voice commands.

One specific feature makes this vehicle stand out compared to most electric vehicles is the regenerative braking system that allows you to drive using one-pedal. When operating the vehicle in “low” mode, simply lifting your foot off the accelerator allows you to slow down or come to a complete stop. This allows energy to transfer back to the battery instead of losing battery power every time you break.

Without the need of gas, the vehicle offers an estimated 238 miles on a single battery charge. You don’t have to worry about running out of battery charge on the road, the PlugShare and Charge Point application helps you identify charging stations during your trip. Just in Greenville alone, there are more than a dozen charging stations! The amount of charging points for electric cars is surprising and it is continuing to grow.

Lastly, Chevrolet offers their mobile application, MyChevrolet that allows you to control the vehicle easily even when you’re not driving it. Some commands the application allows you to do are: start and shut off your car or even lock/unlock the vehicle with just one click.

Thank you Chevrolet for an electrifying experience during SHEEN Magazine’s weekend excursion, anyone would be lucky to have the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV! It’s a one of a kind electric experience.
