We are enjoying seeing you back on the Real Housewives of Atlanta and Chateau Shereé  looks lovely! What would you say is your favorite room in the house?

I absolutely love the kitchen/keeping room area.  In every home I have lived in, it’s where all of my friends and family come together, whether we are playing cards, cooking, watching a movie, or just having girl talk over cocktails.  So, I made certain that that area for me was just big enough yet still cozy enough to entertain.

You recently wrote a book Wives, Fiancées and Side-Chicks of Hotlanta. What made you take a stab at being an author?

I’ve always been a writer, penning thoughts, concepts, and story ideas. For the past three years though, there was a tugging for me to put my thoughts together and go from simply writing to publishing.  I learned that there is a huge difference between being a writer and being a published author, but it has been an amazing journey. I had to learn how to take reality and weave it with creativity. It took me a while to get the book done, but I wanted to do it right. I know my fans and the readers will appreciate it because if I do say so myself, my debut novel will be well worth the wait.

Tell me a little about the main character “Sasha Wellington.”

Sasha’s character is . . . I won’t say deceiving, but just a little tricky. Initially she comes across as this go-getter boss chick with nothing but coins and business ventures on the brain. One minute she may be sipping on sweet tea while everybody else is doing shots. She may be turning her nose up at strip clubs one minute, but then find herself in one the next. One chapter she’s a southern belle and the next she’s living footloose and fancy free.  But I’m sure we could say that about some folks in real life.

Can you see a little of yourself in “Sasha?”

No, I can see a lot of myself in “Sasha.” But then again, I wrote the character to be every woman out there trying to succeed in love, life, business, and family. Sometimes we can get side-tracked by life and a man! So every woman who picks up this book will be able to see a little of herself in it.

What is the book about?

“Sasha Wellington” has put herself on the fast track to success. Fresh out of college, she’s got her career as a fashion designer and entrepreneur all planned out. Her only wild card is choosing which city to launch from. When fate points her to Atlanta, she sets out to make her dreams come true…Before she knows it, Sasha’s befriended by two rivals. First, there’s “Norman,” savvy stylist to Atlanta’s stars. Then there’s “Paris,” an outrageous personality with a questionable nightlife. Between their antics, Sasha’s beyond grateful for her coworker, “Casey.” Married to an NBA player, Casey’s got class. But there’s more than meets the eye to being a baller’s wife. And the more time Sasha spends among the movers and shakers, the clearer it gets that just like on reality TV, the truth lies behind-the-scenes. Still, she’s not worried about getting caught up in the drama—until she’s romanced by a baller of her own. Will Sasha be able to stick to her game plan, or will Hotlanta derail her future—and reveal a side of herself even she didn’t know existed?

What was your favorite thing about writing the book?

This book has already been coined as a reality show in print. I love being a reality television star, but in my book, there were no producers or directors editing the lives of my characters. My favorite thing was having the power to change my mind about what would go down in their lives.

Can we see more novels in the future?

Based on the feedback from early reviews, readers are going to want a lot more of Sasha Wellington, and I’m definitely going to give them what they want. But in addition to novels, I want to pen some non-fiction titles, not really about my life because people already get to see that on BRAVO. I want to pen inspiring, self-help, health and fitness-type books.

When is the book available for purchase and how can people get it?

The book is currently available for pre-order in online bookstores. The official release date is February 2017. It will be available in print and eBook.
