International Nova is a big fan of dreams. After all, his dreams of making it big in music and entertainment are coming true, which means it can be possible for just about anyone.

As he describes himself, he’s “a Dominican kid from the Bronx with a dream, providing a voice to his people.”

His New York upbringing, while rough at times, did have some positives of helping him learn to love music, whether the lyrics are in English or Spanish.

“My sound is inspired by everyday life around me,” he said. “Being Dominican and growing up in the Bronx things wasn’t easy, but music was always my escape: Latin music, reggae, hip hop, R&B, rock, all these different sounds is what makes my sound.”

Growing up, he was in various hip-hop groups which provided him opportunities to work with and perform alongside a variety of notable artists, including Musiq Soulchild and Petey Pablo.

But things really took off when International Nova moved to Atlanta to pursue his solo career, which not only has led to all sorts of creative new music but some TV and movie appearances, including a role in the Tupac Shakur biopic, “All Eyez on Me,” and “Love and HipHop Atlanta,” the reality show that shows viewers what’s happening in music industry.

His single, “Wine for Me” reached number #10 on the Billboard charts, and his newest single, “Controla featuring Petey Pablo” continues to get attention around the world.

It’s actually one of the interesting things about International Nova: he had a group of fans when he was part of other music groups, and they stuck by him when he left to do his own thing. At the same time, he’s been gaining plenty of fans daily, including people who may not know all of his background but have heard his music recently and can’t get enough of it.

This is perfect for International Nova, who enjoys being able to connect to people.

“I love being able to reach someone through my words,” he said. “Music is so powerful, and it is truly the universal language.”

International Nova tells listeners that he often finds the melody first when he’s working on a new piece of music. Then he finds the words, often sharing personal insight from his own experiences.

“It’s crazy how what you go through on a daily basis, can allow you to connect with people from all walks of life,” he said. “I also like to tell people that anything is possible. We all have dreams, but more importantly we can all reach them.” We look forward to seeing more of his greatness come to light.
