Just last night, the Academy of Country Music Awards took place and well, Black artists came in and stole the show!

Country artists Mickey Guyton hosted the night alongside Keith Urban – making her the first Black woman to host the evening.

Guyton also performed and became the first Black solo artist to perform an original song at the annual award show.

Jimmie Allen made history when he was named New Male Artist of the Year. Kane Brown made history as well when he won “Video of the Year Award” for his single “Worldwide Beautiful.” Brown marks as the first Black solo artist winner.

Last but certainly not least, CeCe Winans graced the stage when she was featured in Carrie Underwood’s performance while Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount performed as well.

Black magic is shining, and it’s shining bright!

Congratulations to all these history-makers at the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards.
