Job Corps in Gadsden, Alabama took the time to celebrate the young ladies within their organization with a day of empowerment in Alabama. Job Corps brought successful, career driven women to speak to the students about surviving rejection, the power of social media, and uplifting each other. The ladies walked into the gymnasium painted in hot pink, black, and white stripes decor and an elegant brunch style setting.

The ladies ate well while receiving positive messages from the guest speakers. Courtney Crosson of Sigma Gamma Rho broke the ice with a live performance and the pro makeup artist also pampered the ladies and gave out makeup tips following the event.

Sheen Magazine was invited to be apart of this event from Job Corps very own Tisha Burton. I was honored to represent Sheen Magazine and speak to over 100 young ladies about pursuing their dreams and staying positive in a world that often tries to diminish or belittle strong women. Sheen Magazine sponsored copies of the magazine, gift bags filled with little gifts for the students and attendees. The students engaged with the speakers and definitely didn’t shy away from speaking up about their future plans and goals.
