Legendary Kobe Bryant was able to end his basketball career last night by retiring his jersey last night at the Staples Center! On Monday night the Lakers chose to retire both of his jerseys, numbers 8 and 24 which Bryant wore throughout his career. This ceremony made Kobe the 10th player with a retired jersey for the NBA Lakers.

“It’s not about the jerseys that are hanging up there for me. It’s about the jerseys that were hanging up there before. They inspired me to play the game at a high level,” Bryant said.

In his 20 seasons with the Lakers, he was the first player to stay with one franchise. His career average included 33,643 points, a five-time NBA champion and 18-time All-Star selection.

Bryant was joined by his beautiful family including his wife of 16 years and their three daughters. Congratulations Kobe!
