With the warm weather quickly approaching, it’s time to put down the curling iron and rock your natural curls. Professional hairstylist Ricky Pennisi is the founder of Ricicurls.com, a hair care system that is specifically designed to hydrate curls and combat frizz and he gave us tips on how to rock your natural hair to perfection.

-Air-dried curls that are damaged and frizz-free. The summer sun acts as a natural volumizer when mixed with the warm, humid air. The trick is to keep your hair hydrated to prevent frizz and flyaways. Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners in the shower. Sulfate strips your hair’s natural moisture.

-For easy curls, separate your hair into two sections. Braid each section and secure with a hair tie. Spray each braid with the RI CI Memory Setting Spray. Let the braids rest for a few hours, or even overnight. Then remove and shake out the curls with your fingers. This also works great on second-day hair.

-For shorter cuts when braids are just not an option, grab a thin headband and place across your temples. Then starting from the front, grab small sections (about 1 inch) and wrap around the headband. Spray with the RI CI Memory Setting Spray and leave in for a few hours. After you unwrap the hair, use a wide tooth-comb to separate the curls.
