Meagan is a Human Resources consultant, author, empowerment speaker, blogger, podcaster, and mental health counselor. Meagan’s passion is to become a trailblazing voice for young girls and women worldwide. Drawing on her own experiences of abuse, rejection, and abandonment, Meagan uses her words to encourage others to build a home within themselves; to love, live, and create fearlessly.

Meagan recently launched a Human Resources brand, Maize Consulting, and a mental health empowerment brand, Mental Rich.

Meagan believes that “A woman who believes in herself has everything.”

We had an amazing opportunity to speak with this powerhouse.

Who is Meagan at her core?

Throughout my childhood and the first half of my life, I struggled a lot to figure out who I was.  I defined myself in relationship to others and what I was good at, but not necessarily what I wanted to learn and do. I was a “great friend”, “hard worker, “smart” and “caring”.  I am still those things today, but it took me until now, in my 30s to find the life I have now, where I feel that what I do every day matches what I am meant to do in this world.  I am a woman who believes in herself and loves herself today, more than ever. I am passionate about helping young girls and women thrive. I am a woman who does not look like what she has been through. I am a risk-taker. I am a leader. I am an empowered woman.

Why are you so passionate about helping others?

I have always been passionate about helping others since I was a young girl. I am a natural caregiver and am looking to make a difference. I am blessed that I can help others and be supportive of their needs as it feels great to be compassionate to someone else needs. I have always had an interest in helping young girls and women find their destiny. Drawing on my own experiences of abuse, rejection, and abandonment, I decided to use my words to encourage young girls and women to build a home within themselves; to love, live, and create fearlessly.

What would the 21-year-old Meagan tell the Meagan of today?

As a 21-year-old young woman, I was lost and broken. I didn’t like or love myself. Now, a woman in my 30s, I have learned to love every part of myself. I would tell the 21-year-old Meagan that no matter what, keep pushing and believe in yourself no matter what. I would tell my younger self that she matters and know that no matter what, God will always provide.

Tell us about your business.

I have two businesses. Maize Consulting is a Human Resources Consulting firm, that specializes in helping startup, small and medium-size businesses assess their current human resources needs. Meagan Copelin Global is the parent company of various brands, to include Mental Rich. Mental Rich is a mental health movement dedicated to helping women of color who suffer from mental illnesses, steaming from abuse, abandonment, and rejection.

Where do you see yourself in the next 2 years? 5 years?

In the next 2-5 years, I see my business growing to all 50 states, to include international. I am working on various projects currently to assist in growing my business.

Define success.

Success to me is to live the life I truly want and deserve and not just the life I settle for. Success is truly a peace of mind.
