After signing with L.A. Models, Viandra landed a standout role in the video “Play No Games”  by Chris Brown, Big Sean and Ty Dolla $ign that premiered at the BET Awards. From that moment alone, she became SAG-AFTRA eligible, which is a highly coveted community for actors and actresses to find work. Most recently, Viandra unveiled her newest single and visual for “Link Up,” and announces the launch of her new brand BADGIRL By Via. Inspired by her forthcoming single “BAD GIRL,” which will be released on her upcoming EP. Bad Girl By Via represents confidence, individuality, and being unapologetically you. Fans can expect the drop to coincide with her highly-anticipated new EP, slated to arrive on December 25th.

Sheen spoke with Viandra in Downtown Los Angeles, who was decked from head to toe in royal blue. Read below as we discuss her music career, releasing her debut single, and upcoming project.

For those who don’t know, who is Viandra?

Viandra is a bad ass boss babe. I am an artist, business owner, model, actress, and entrepreneur just doing my thing.

At what point did you realize you wanted to be an artist yourself?

I realized I wanted to be an artist after being surrounded by so much artistry. I always had a place in my heart for music but I was just too shy to show it. Now I am more ready than ever!

How did you learn how to record and everything?

I originally had an engineer who was also my manager at the time who showed me the ins and outs of pro tools and logic but he passed away. In 2021, I was taught how to self record my music so ever since, I have been recording myself.

Talk about releasing your debut single, “Nasty.”

Releasing ‘Nasty’ was very exciting for me because the song was a vibe. When I was in the studio and I heard that beat, I instantly knew what I was going to say and I knew how I was going to come and I came! Period.

How did your fanbase react to you doing music?

I feel like my fan base showed a lot of support. They loved it, honestly. It is always nerve racking when you are presenting something new but the way my fans reacted made me feel even more confident about it!

Best memory from the “Link Up” video shoot?

The best memory from “Link Up” was honestly the whole shoot. The studio we shot in was everything, the girls came out and showed out! Shout out to my videographer, she did her thing!

What is it you want fans to get from your story?

I really want my fans to see the grind. I want them to know it is not an overnight process and it takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. A lot of long days, nights, and years have been put into this and I am still grinding. I want them to understand that the grind doesn’t stop even when you reach your goal. That just means it is time to grind even harder.

So is music your main focus now?

Yes, music is my main focus right now but I do wear many hats.

Definitely want to touch on your acting roles. How was it doing True to the Game?

I was young when I did “True to the Game” but being a part of that movie was a good experience for me and being able to work with other more experienced actors.

How young were you?

I was 17 or 18.

What about South Central Love?

South Central Love was a very fun set to be a part of and I also got to walk the red carpet which was a very great experience.

Did you ever take acting classes?

Yeah, I took some acting classes after I was already acting to enhance my craft.

3 things you need in the studio at all times?

Water, good energy, and myself. Shit, I don’t know what else I need. Some food?

What kind of food?

Preferably a good meal with some vegetables but I do like snacking and I am a Hot Cheeto type of girl.

What are your beauty go-to’s?

My beauty go-to’s are my hair, my makeup, staying done up from head to toe. Which I do myself.

Oh wow, you slay!

Girl, all day! [laughs] I have 3 sisters, one brother. I’m the fourth. So watching sisters pampering themselves growing up helped me master my looks.

How proud are they of you?

They are really proud. All my family is really proud of me for how far I have come.

What inspires your fashion?

Honestly, I was always giving. Especially where I come from, in Oklahoma alot of you will not know but dressing is a thing. You gotta know how to dress or they gon’ rag on you. Honestly, they will clown you. So coming up, dressing was always a thing. Fashion was always a thing. Don’t leave the house without your earrings on. My auntie would be like “girl, you better come here and put some earrings on!” For real, it was serious.

Talk about working with Fashion Nova.

Working with Fashion Nova has been a pleasure. I appreciate the opportunity. They love me there and I love them back.

Secret to saying snatched?

My name ain’t no Victoria. I ain’t got no secrets. [laughs] It is just genetics, but I do hit the gym here and there, but I am not a fitness guru.

Do you have any goals for yourself?

My goals for myself is to become a consistent Billboard charting artist, become a very successful business owner, and be an influence to the upcoming younger generation. Also, I am planning to launch a nonprofit organization where I will be able to give back to the community.
