Phylicia Rashad is set to make her directorial debut on Broadway next spring!

Deadline has reported that Rashad will take on Charles Randolph-Wright’s play, Blue which tells the story of the Clarks family who must go through the positive and negatives in life to accompany their fortune.

This will be Rashad’s second time being involved with the play, Blue. She starred in the play’s world premiere at the Arena Stage back in 2000 and its premiere in New York at the Roundabout Theatre Company in 2001.

In an official statement, Rashad said, “I am happy to be directing this play that brought me so much joy.” She added, “It affirms the importance of theater and its power to touch the human heart.” Congratulations Phylicia Rashad!
