Ladies! Whether you’re looking for a fun way to reconnect with your partner, or you’re on the market for something chiseled and hot, taking your relationship goals to the gym, or in this case the turf, is a great way to make that happen. I sat down with Atlanta Falcons Safety, and my Massage Therapy client Kemal Ishmael to get his take on active partnerships, and women in football. Here’s what he had to say.

Atlanta Falcons defensive back Kemal Ishmael (36) returns an interception 23 yards for a touchdown in the first half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014. Would you say that being active with your partner makes the relationship better?

Yes, it makes the relationship better. You can grow together, see each other’s progress, and hold each other accountable. That sort of thing brings people closer.

Being as active as you are, would you say that you prefer a woman who’s highly active as well?

Sure. I like the idea of being active together and learning different things from one another.

Why do you think women are becoming more interested in, not only watching football, but playing as well?

Our generation is moving toward being more active & healthy. Sports are a big part of that and, [especially something as intense as football], a great way to get in shape. Women want to be a part of that.

Being active together means you also have to eat healthy together. What’s your favorite healthy meal?

Bake salmon and spinach for sure.

Do you find that you perform better when you eat healthy?

Eating healthier makes me feel like my muscles are more rested and energized. I feel like I’m using them more efficiently.

How do you feel about women playing football?

I don’t see a problem with it. Women can do whatever they want. I would want my partner to learn about the sacrifice, discipline and character building that playing the game brings.
