Last night, the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards took place and in addition to celebrating the award show’s most diverse group of nominees ever we’ve got another reason to jump for joy.

It was back in 2003 when the Television Academy added the category for Outstanding Reality-Competition Series to their list of nominees. Since then, only three shows have been able to win the category, The Amazing Race, The Voice, and Top Chef.

Well last night, everything changed as RuPaul’s Drag Race won their first Emmy award!

The hit series won over many fan favorites such as Project Runway and American Ninja Warrior. As RuPaul and the Drag Race team took the stage, the crowd gave them a standing ovation.

In his acceptance, RuPaul stated,

“All of the dreamers out there, listen,” he said. “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an amen up in here? Now let the music play!”

Congratulations RuPaul and the entire Drag Race team! RuPaul’s Drag Race will return to VH1 next year for its 11th season.
