Yandy Smith – Harris holds many titles as a hip-hop manager, business mogul, supporting wife and mother, all while changing the face of television and music. A graduate of Howard University, Yandy exudes nothing but excellence including being recognized in 2008 as Top 30 Executives Under 30.

Harris also has been one of the leading stars on the hit VH1 reality show Love and Hip Hop for seven seasons. Each season we have seen her go through many challenges and life changes from being the manager of hip-hop star Jim Jones to marrying the love of her life, Mendeecees Harris. We watched as her fairy tale relationship came to a pause as Mendeecees serves an eight-year prison sentence. Through it all, she continues to push through each challenge and change gracefully. Securing the bag now for seven seasons, Yandy is ready to take her empire state of mind to the dirty south.

What made you leave New York City and come to Atlanta?

Atlanta is moving in every industry. I was looking to get more involved with TV and movies and this is the place to be. It’s the new Black Hollywood. I won’t be totally leaving New York City because I still film there but Atlanta is my new home.

Now that you are in Black Hollywood, what’s the move?

To take over (laughs), Atlanta has so many opportunities in every industry and I’m looking to get my hands in everything. I recently bought out a space and I’m turning it into my office and a recording studio. I have my hairline and skin care line, “Yelle Beauty”; I’m also managing a restaurant right next door to the office. I’m working on my television production company, which will produce news shows and web series and of course Everything Girls Love is still in motion and growing. Being in Atlanta will allow me to take my brands further because the markets here are soaring.
