If you believe that there can’t be a tie between rap and faith, then you’re clearly mistaken. Christian rapper, Johnathan Hill exudes all of that with his love of God and his ability to create music. Today, he’s used his platform to spread the word of God to anyone that will listen, but in the most unique way possible. Just recently, Hill teamed up with rapper, Project Pat for a new single titled “Non Realer Than God,” and we wanted to learn all the details surrounding it. In our exclusive interview, Hill opened up to us about the new single, his motivating factors, and much more.

Tell us about your single, “Non Realer Than God.”

The new single is a Christian rap-hip-hop/pop song that brings God’s glory in a rustic fashion. It features Project Pat, who is a member of Three Six Mafia. We collabed for this project to rap about the fact that in a culture where it’s cool and respected to be real, it is “Non Realer Than God.” I had a lot of fun with this and hopefully it will reach and touch a lot of people.

What was it like working with Project Pat for this project?

It was a great experience. It was nostalgic for me because my friends and I are huge fans of him. We would listen to him a whole lot! We quoted his lyrics verbatim, so it was cool. He is so professional as well. It didn’t take him a long time to do his part at all. He was very upfront and candid about the song. It was really encouraging because he helped promote the song and pushed it for me. It was connecting with a homie that I had known for years (laughs) through his music. It was a great vibe, we vibed and brought God’s glory together. For me to link up with one of my favorite rappers from back in the day, it was super hard. We brought God’s glory in this fashion; it was just an amazing experience. It is my favorite song to date.

You’re known as a Christian rapper – do you mind sharing the motivating factor for you?

My daily devotion and the word of God. That is mainly the source that influences my music. I’m literally trying to communicate what I’ve learned from the word. I’m trying to share that with my listeners. I want to encourage them in that fashion. The originator of life, who is God – I can communicate His ideas in my music to the culture. It’s life-changing because it was life-changing for me. It’s a very high honor to operate in that fashion, especially in this crisis that we’ve been in. I have been lucky enough to have been able to steer my listeners towards hope and inspiration. That’s from a divine perspective, it’s amazing every time I get to share on a track.

What are you working on now and what can we expect to see from you in the future?

Right now, I’m mainly working on cultivating more relationships in the industry. I want to promote the music I have, there are a lot of songs that haven’t been heard. I want more people to hear my message. I’m also working on my real estate portfolio, because I’m big on real estate. I’ll be dropping some information on that soon.
