The 49th NAACP Image Awards was one to remember this year.

The award show kicked off the night with six empowering women in industry who called out in order to get others to vote.

Tracy Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Laverne Cox, Jurnee Smollet-Bell, Lena Waithe, and Angela Robinson took the stage hand in hand to declare their support in the Time’s Up movement, in which was created to stop sexual harassment and gender discrimination.

Also this year, Danny Glover received the President’s Award at the annual event. Glover spent decades in labor activism and as an advocate for justice and education.

He was honored tonight for his work in film and television. Danny Glover took the time to bring attention to his fighting for workers’ rights in the span of nearly five decades.
