Girls Trip came in second at the box office this weekend, smashing all of the comedies this summer thus far, earning an estimated $30.8 million, but the box office wasn’t the best part of this weekend’s premiere, Tiffany Haddish was. Haddish stole the show and has been acclaimed as the “funniest person alive right now” in her breakout role. Tiffany has starred in many other films and TV shows such as Tyler Perry’s If Loving Was Wrong, Keanu and The Carmichael Show but her role in Girls Trip might take the cake as her best performance thus far.

From the start of the film, we were laughing until our stomachs hurt as Dina (Tiffany Haddish) played the spicy, fun-loving, carefree friend of the bunch. While recapping the lives of the friends, Dina seemed to be the one on a less stead path than the rest of the “Flossy Posse”, hardly maintaining her current career and saying/doing whatever may come to her mind. Although she’s a little outrageous, she is the most caring friend and will do whatever it takes to make sure her friends are happy and safe (even if that means smashing a wine bottle to make her threat a promise)!

As Dina captivated our hearts and made sure we laughed until we cried, Tiffany has as well. She has quickly become one of Hollywood’s favorite sweethearts overnight. Having grown up with a mother diagnosed with a mental illness  after a car accident that left her brain damage she became the foundation of her household, taking care of her four siblings before being split up into different foster homes. Haddish worked extremely hard to get to where she is now. The fact that Tiffany is as hilarious as her character makes her even more heart warming. In a recent interview she describes being apart of Girls Trip, “This is, I have to say, one of the happiest moments of my life”.

We are so excited for Tiffany, as her dreams come true and she continues to make hits, soon to be starring in a TBS sitcom with Tracy Morgan. Tiffany says she has been working 19 years for this moment and hopefully she will continue to shine. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check out Girls Trip now, it’s in theaters everywhere and be on the lookout for Tiffany Haddish as she has more projects to come!
