7-time Grammy-winning artist, Toni Braxton is making news once again as she hits the silver screen starring in LifeTime film, “Faith Under Fire.” LifeTime held an advanced premiere screening with Toni Braxton,Malik Yoba ,Yaya Dacosta and heroic figure, Antionette Tuff.

Faith Under Fire tells the story of Atlanta heroin, Antionette Huff who was responsible for saving the lives of over 800 students at the Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy. Huff served as the school bookkeeper, covering the front desk on August 20th, 2013.

20-year-old Michael Brandon entered the school building armed with a rifle, ready to kill. Brandon told Tuff that he had a mental disorder and was off his medication.

In those moments, Tuff shared her personal story of heart break with him which included a son with various disabilities and her recent divorce. Ultimately, Tuff was able to convince the gunman to surrender leaving all children and employees unharmed.

Braxton displays a glimpse of what Tuff endured on that day, as she portrays Tuff on screen. Braxton serves a stellar performance as she plays a dynamic role, which happens to be a true story.

Braxton said she had “Watched footage, interviews, and read multiple stories to prepare for the role.”

The LifeTime film has a star studded cast with Hollywood actor, Malk Yoba and Chicago Med and Americas Next Top Model Alum, Yaya Dacosta.

Dacosta is apart of the LifeTime movie family as she also portrayed Whitney Houston in the LifeTime biopic film, Whitney. In this film, Dacosta portrays the 911 operator that was on the on the phone with Huff, as she tried to calm down the gunman.
