Will we ever be tired of Michelle Obama’s Smithsonian National Portrait?!
It seems as if everyone else in the world feels the same way about our favorite FLOTUS’ portrait.
Back in February, Amy Sherald’s portrait of Michelle was unveiled and since then, visitors have been pouring into the gallery to see the phenomenal piece.
It was just announced this morning that because the portrait has become so popular, the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery is moving the portrait to a larger space for their guests.
We’re always changing things up here 👀 Due to the high volume of visitors, we’ve relocated Michelle Obama’s portrait to the 3rd floor in our 20th-Century Americans galleries for a more spacious viewing experience. Since adding the Obamas to the gallery, the Smithsonian has received a huge increase in the amount of visitors. In February, 176,700 people have visited the museum and this past weekend added another 45,000.
We’ll never get tired of looking at the beautiful display of Michelle Obama!
