A Different Walk

There are several descriptive ways to define a fashion model. One who poses for photographs, one who walks the runway displaying designer clothing, and accessories, one who participates in photo shoots for magazines and catalogs and so on.  Through the years women and men have been drawn to the creativity and financial success of becoming a model. Other perks include traveling, obtaining free clothing and collaborating with other professionals.

Angela “Stikks” Adams, CEO and Founder of The Christian Models Association, shares that she is a Christian wife and Christian mom who pursued a modeling career. She’s had the opportunity to do hair shows and walk the runway during L. A. Fashion week. She also admits to turning down compromising jobs. She shares that Jesus comes first in everything she does and although turning certain jobs down the Lord still opened doors for her. Other Christian women pursuing a modeling career reached out to Angela requesting help getting into the industry without having to compromise as well. Angela shares that she helped the women, which in time birth Christian Models Association.

The founder shares it’s important for her models to represent the kingdom of Jesus Christ, because the Bible says, “what does it prosper a person to gain the world and lose their soul.” Angela shares we should all use this life to prepare us for eternal life. Angela’s faith is strong in Christ and thanks the Lord for the sacrifice He made for her. She shares her favorite verse in the Bible is Psalms 91, as she’s been stuck in that chapter for a while because it’s so good! She encourages all to read it to know God’s faithfulness.

Angela encourages her models and prepares them for any rejection. She feels that God has enough opportunities for all and if there is rejection it’s God’s protection. She also shares that she’s proud of Christian Models Association and that she’s able to bring light to an industry that at times can be full of darkness.

The Christian Models Association is on social media and has over 90K followers. Angela shares that she uses Instagram to promote her models. She also shares women over 50 years of age are becoming more frequent in the fashion industry. She feels women of that age becoming models by trusting God as well because all things are possible with God.

Angela shares that she enjoys spending time with her children, Ezra, Elijah Hope and Ella Rein. She loves taking them to the park, out to eat and just hanging out. She realizes time goes so fast and cherishes the time she must spend with them now.

For any aspiring models, Angela advises to let go of any excuses and take a leap of faith. She believes God gives us dreams and if being a model is your dream go for it.
