The three-time Grammy nominee and multiple Stellar Award winner, alongside with his wife just wrapped up Engage Culture Weekend. A weekend of activities with celebrities which included Michelle Williams, Adrienne Houghton, Tasha Cobbs and many more! Engage Culture’s aim is to cultivate a culture but also “give a response to culture.. you can either confirm, complain of confront culture. That is what we stand for and the vision for our church. We celebrate our church and have a great time.”
At Engage Culture Weekend, attendees also had an opportunity to get a taste of Dr. Jackie’s new book Permission. The new literary work filled with various elements “is a challenge to choose between the two different versions that we have of ourselves. We need to dare to be that bold, courageous person, that the Father has created us to be. When you were created God gave full permission to do all the things that you were created to do.” The author decided to put pen to paper because she was inspired by her own life and “had dealt with the paralysis of fear, because I was afraid to fail and not be perfect. But I finally recognized, that was not going to get me to do what God designed me to be, it would only give me delayed relationships and delayed dreams. I wanted readers to hear a charge through this work, so they would be able to push forward as well.”
While the couple is hot off their incredible weekend, the music and the preaching does not stop for them. Travis Greene has taken over the gospel world by storm with various anthems that have played worldwide. Many listeners of all faiths have enjoyed the music of Travis Greene like Make a Way which was “written from the honest place with passion, and where I was when I did it.”
The singer shared that the key to his winning success has been “the favor of God. I’ve been doing music for well over 11 years. It has always been in my heart to do. Now for it to blossom the way it has, for God to bless me with this platform, only He can get the credit for this. The grace of God, the favor of God is who I owe all of the credit to.”
