Thanks to Jane the Virgin actress, Gina Rodriguez, a young woman will not have to worry about her college tuition.

Rodriguez decided to use her For Your Consideration studio money to fund an undocumented high school student’s college tuition at Princeton University.

Gina teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles in order to find a student to receive a college scholarship. The scholarship will cover the young woman’s four years at the University.

In an interview published Tuesday, the actress stated,

“Our show has always jumped at any opportunity to help me do something for the Latinx community. So I asked my showrunner, Jennie [Snyder Urman], if we could do something different with the money this year.”

She continued sharing,

“It’s taboo to talk about the money being spent, but it’s the reality. I think sharing this might inspire other people to do something similar. You can desire recognition and, at the same time, decide to not play in the confines of the game as it’s set up.”

Gina Rodriguez is out here making dreams come true and she’s not the only one! NBA star, Kevin Durant also covered the first year of college tuition for four of his mentees earlier this month!
