Sheen Magazine had the pleasure of getting to know this young sensation quickly on her way to stardom. Young and ambitious, Arianna Jonae allowed us a chance to get to know just who she really is beyond the camera! Join us as Arianna tells us what inspired the creation of her YouTube channel, music and its impact in her life, and where she hopes to see herself in the years to come.

Tell us about yourself. What made you want to start up your channel?

Well, my name is Arianna Jonae and I am an actress, singer, host, and writer, I like to say an overall content creator. I started my first channel back when I was in eighth grade. I wanted to have an outlet to create stuff. I started the channel initially for entertainment.

How are you able to stay unique on your channel and come up content that will stand out?

I used to do a lot of beauty videos when I first transformed from the entertainment stuff. I found my way back to more entertainment content because I realized that a lot of people do story time videos; everybody’s story is different. One thing that no one can take from you is your experiences so it is easier to tell your story from your own experience. I think that’s what makes my content unique and stand out.

You also upload covers on your channel, have you always loved singing?

I’ve always loved music and I’ve always loved singing. I remember when I was young I would sing all the Barney songs loud in my house (laughs).

Although I loved to sing, I wasn’t as confident in it. I love to talk, I’m a talker if you haven’t noticed (laughs), so I put music on the back burner for a few years. When I moved from Texas to Los Angeles, I would do karaoke with my old roommate and the post-grad crisis was real so we would go home with a bottle of wine and sing! She convinced me to do more music but I wasn’t sure if I was good enough. That push from her helped me see that I don’t just love music, I’m passionate about it. So now, I’m actually working on an EP and we’re going to try to release it early 2019. I’m so excited!

Sheen Magazine is the Ultimate Beauty Guide for the Modern Day Woman, what are your holy grail products?

The first one would Ouidad Curl Recovery Whipped Curls Daily Conditioner & Styling Primer; it’s a curly hair product that is crème. If you just put that one product in your hair, you’re good. I also really love Aveeno products. I do have eczema, I talk about it a lot on my socials and channels. Their products are more affordable than having to go to a dermatologist. I also love LUSH too because they have a lot of natural products, which is also good for eczema.

What do you want your viewers to know about yourself and the industry that you are in?

What a lot of people don’t understand is that influencers aren’t just trying to stay on just one platform. A lot of us built our followings for ourselves so that we could get to bookings on television shows, movies, etc. Social media is such a huge platform that can get you to wherever your heart desires. For me, I have my hands dipped in many buckets (is that the saying?) (laughs). I feel like I can do it all with social media. When I first started my channel, I wanted to be a movie producer. I kind of switched over to the writing side and behind the scenes but I’m able to create the content I want to create and I don’t have to wait to get that big YES. I’m able to express myself as an influencer and it gives me an audience to express myself to. I can write my music and release it through social and I can post skits, tell crazy stories, and it helps me realize who I am as a person. It sounds cliché but it is true. Once you find yourself by just doing what makes you happy, that’s when people come.

For the longest, I was told my personality was too much, people said I was so extra (laughs). I tried to tone it down but it was obvious it wasn’t me. I cringe at my old videos because I was trying to be proper. It just wasn’t me. Its made it easier for me to be myself and find people I can identify with. I want my viewers to know that they should use their voice to propel themselves and conquer their goals.

Where do you hope to see yourself in the future?

I am a hopeless romantic (laughs). So, I’m hoping to settle down if someone can handle all of this! (laughs) That is a big thing for me, I want a really big family. Career-wise I want to act more. I’ve been into writing scripts more, my roommates and I wrote a film called, “Killer Party” and we’re almost done shooting. I want to keep writing and producing content. I definitely want to release more music. In the future, I see a family, a little in-house studio with a lot of music and content created!
