HAPPY NEW YEAR (Part 4 of a 4 part night!) I’ve spent every new year of the last decade by the ocean… in St Barth’s, Anguilla, Nice, Malibu etc. Last year, I brought @boriskodjoe, @nicoleariparker & @yvonneorji to the beach in Accra at the suggestion of @bentsifi to watch the sun rise. This year is no different in watching the dawn off the coast of Ghana. But it does hold more significance since 2019 marks 400 years since the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade. So we gathered our friends and family, held hands, jumped in the waves, howled in sorrow for our ancestors who crossed or died in these waters, cheered as @theajzone was baptized in the same waters, and screamed with joy for our gift of today. We welcomed the rising of a brand new day in a brand new year! #ForTheAncestors #HappyNewYear #Rebirth #WAVsHoliday #FullCircleFestival2018 #YearOfReturn2019
