The moment I shook hands with Nick Grant, I knew he was a star. A star from the get-go.

I first heard of Nick Grant during my senior year of college at Winston-Salem State University – nearly a year before Epic Records released Return of the Cool. To me, Nick Grant had already made hip-hop history by stealing the show on FunkFlex posse cut “Nick Grant Freestyles On Flex | Freestyle #018. There was a subsequent buzz from Nick’s effortless freestyle bars (“Bout my broccoli and kale/Yeah, that Booky De Niro/Talkin’ so much money I could make Oprah pop it for Gayle.”) This event prompted Nick Grant’s consideration as one of the top MC’s of his era. Moreover, Nick shared that he is “dreaming out loud” which would later become the title to his third studio mixtape.
