Toy company, Mattel has just launched a doll recognizing and honoring the activist for her impact on American history.
Rosa Parks’ doll is part of Barbie’s Inspiring Women series, a line that launched back in 2018. The line also includes NASA mathematician, Katherine Johnson!
The exciting news for Parks’ doll was revealed on Women’s Equality Day, which couldn’t be more fitting.
In addition to that, Sally Ride, who became the first American woman to fly in space was also announced alongisde Rosa Parks’ Doll.
In an official statement to CNN, a Mattel spokesperson said, “Both Sally Ride and Rosa Parks made the world better for future generations of girls.”
The spokesperson added, “By celebrating their achievements with dolls made in their likeness, we hope girls will be inspired to pursue their dream.”
