In December 2017, Bonita Parker was diagnosed with Stage IV Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer. For those who are familiar with the diagnosis, you understand the severity of it. For those who may not know, triple negative is considered the “incurable cancer” – it’s said to be terminal. But being a woman of faith, Bonita spiritual connection wouldn’t allow her to accept that diagnosis. She stood on God’s word and is watching Him do the work of healing and restoration! Obtaining this diagnosis and experiencing firsthand what having cancer looks and feels like, and hearing the tragic stories of and from other women surrounding lack of support and resources, Bonita decided to launch the Hope for Pink Foundation to provide direct support services to those battling breast cancer.

Bonita, please help us to get to know you a little bit better.

I am a proud mother of two, a supportive and loving spouse, and a loyal friend. I am a certified life and radical success coach, an international best-selling author, and stage 4 breast cancer survivor.

On a daily basis, I am passionate about motivating and inspiring women to uncover their true passion. With over 12 years in the business coaching realm, I teach them proven business strategies to turn that passion into profits and bankroll their bank accounts so that they can live the life of their dreams.  My goal is to shift them to a place where they can feel comfortable in their transparency, walk in their authenticity, and prepare them for full circle abundance.

How many businesses do you have and what are they?

I currently have four businesses. They are Bonita Parker Enterprises (Bonita Parker), where I serve as a radical success coach and transformation strategist, assisting women with discovering their purpose, planning their 9 to 5 exit strategy, and building a successful brand doing what they love doing most. I am also the Visionary of the Dream Achieve Win Academy – a virtual platform that provides live training, educational resources, and tools to entrepreneurs to aid in their business success. Additionally, I am the CEO and Financial Education Specialist of BP Financial Services where I provide personal tax preparation services, credit restoration, and life preparedness services to the community. Last but not least, I am the Founder and President of the Hope for Pink Foundation – a national nonprofit organization who advocates for cure of metastatic breast cancer and provides direct support services to patients in active treatment and their caregivers.

What has been your greatest challenge as an entrepreneur?

My greatest challenge as an entrepreneur has been lack of consistency. Juggling many things on a daily basis without a consistent support team in place has caused me to become stagnant. I’m better positioned now, of course, but I think as entrepreneurs we get into this mind-space of “I can do it myself” instead of delegating. It’s usually not until you get overwhelmed or burned out that you realize, “wait! I need help.”

What would the Bonita of today tell the 21-year-old Bonita?

There are so many things I would probably say as I’ve been through so much in my lifetime – good, bad and ugly. But the top three things would be:

Be more cognizant of where and how you spend your time.

Save more – spend less.

Be yourself no matter what.

What exciting project are you working on?

I have several things coming down the pike that has me revved up – but in particular, I am in the process of planning my inaugural Pink Pumps & Pearls Breast Cancer Gala to officially launch my foundation and to roll out the initiatives that will help women and men living with breast cancer. I’ll also be honoring survivors, current warriors, and caregivers at this event. So I’m uber excited about that. This is what I’m here for – to make a massive impact on a global level. This gets me excited.

I am also working on and preparing to launch my 4th anthology book where I’ll be sharing some very intimate details surrounding my fight with terminal breast cancer. And finally, on the strictly business realm, I will be launching my first membership Mastermind for entrepreneurs. All coming soon!

What final words do you want to share?

A quick message for aspiring entrepreneurs or anyone who’s been in business and are frustrated because they are not seeing the fruits yet …

Trust the process and allow your efforts to be indicative of the outcome you wish to receive. Make sure you are doing the work and putting forth your absolute best efforts. Too often we want more than what we were willing to put in for because we put more emphasis on the glitz and glam of entrepreneurship without focusing on what it takes to actually get to that point. If you want success, you have to put in the work to achieve it. So allow yourself to go through the process of success – the hills and valleys and level ground. It’s an evolving process but don’t get frustrated. Don’t cut corners on your goals. Do the work! And believe me, the success will come.
