When lipstick connoisseur Florence Adepoju was 18, she was pursuing her studies in pharmacy before switching over to cosmetic science at London College of Fashion to begin a journey that would bring vintage, nostalgic make up to fans of the 90s, 00s, and the golden age of hip hop culture. Her brand description defines MDMflow as “an accumulation of all of Florence’s obsessions; the colours black and gold, hip hop, beauty, fashion and science. The brand sits in the post 90s era, with a heavy influence of the mid 90s-00s glamour that comes from the hip hop culture.”
The website perfectly enraptures all we love of 90s & early-00s nostalgia, the glitter, the garbs, and the slang. Inspired by the trending throwback culture that the mainstream is starting to play into, Florence keeps her colors fresh, vibrant, and most importantly, consciously made with women of color in mind. MDMflow is a British cosmetics line that sells handmade lipstick and lip gloss, as well as “the decade’s greatest mascara”, on their website and at other select retailers like Boots & Dolls Kill. But don’t fret about traveling to London to pick up a shade of gloss or a rogue-y tone, MDMflow’s website ships to the U.S.
