Creative Director Samyra Speaks Exclusively About Her Journey in the Fashion Industry

Samyra is a multitalented creative director making a name for herself in the fashion industry. Her work never disappoints, from her high fashion designs to eye-catching photography and edgy, creative photoshoots. We will definitely keep our eye on this beauty, who uses her creative talents to inspire her fans. In our exclusive interview with Samyra, the designer and creative director talks further about her journey in fashion, dream collaboration and more.

Tell us about yourself. What inspired you to pursue a career as a creative director?
My name is Samyra. I’m 23 years old, a creative director, a fashion designer, and a freelance photographer. Finding my inner creativity when I was twelve was the start of my artistic journey. I used to cut patches out of different fabric pieces and hand sew them onto denim jackets that I collected at the time. Kids at my school admired the uniqueness of my style and asked if I could design jackets for them as well. That’s when I made my first dollar off of my creativity. Moving forward, I was gifted my first sewing machine, and from there, I began to sew different collections of apparel. I have always been big on presentation; therefore, creative directing became necessary in my fashion designs. Coming up with themes and concepts to coordinate with my clothing for photo/video shoots is one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with creative directing!

What do you like most about being a creative director?
What I like most about being a Creative Director is the endless ideas in creating different aesthetics. I love the process of putting concepts together forming them into these artistic images and videos.

How has creativity impacted or inspired you in your life?
We are all creators in some way. Everything that exists was once someone’s thoughts and ideas. I believe that there are no rules to creativity. Everyone perceives art differently. We all have our own perceptions of what art means and how it looks to us. Having said that, I feel as if creating is a natural part of who I am. It’s heavily involved in my life in every little detail.

What do you enjoy most about your career?
I really enjoy having the creative freedom to visualize ideas and bring them to fruition. Fashion design, creative directing, and photography all play a part in that.

When creating your vision boards, where do you gather some of your inspiration?
I know this might sound like a cliche, but I really get inspired from just daily life. Being in the world is very inspirational. There are so many things to see and get ideas from and many cool ways to turn them into art.

What is your dream collaboration or project?
It would be really awesome to collaborate with Chris Brown. I think he’s very bold and daring when it comes to his style and creativity. Designing some clothes for him and setting up some dope photoshoots to create some amazing art together would be fire!

What can we look forward to seeing from you?
I look forward to giving the world more creativity, expressiveness, and innovativeness regarding my art and talents. I strongly feel like 2022 and beyond will be very vibrant, bold, and flourishing for me and my career.
