Wine has been made all over the world for thousands of years, with France and Italy being top contenders. There are so many varieties of wine to choose from nowadays. People enjoy drinking wine for relaxation; some drink at social gatherings and some drink wine for the exciting taste.
Canadian singer, songwriter and actress, Deborah Cox, shares that while traveling the world performing and connecting with people across cultures, she’s always loved how wine has a way of bringing people together -with it being a symbol of reflection, connection and celebration-hench the culmination being the root idea of Kazaisu, wine. She wanted to bring something clean, organic, elegant and luxurious in taste for people to share in their most meaningful moments.
The Canadian singer shares that Kazaisu is a blend of her three children’s names: Kaila, Isaiah, and Sumayah. While on a family vacation, the name was born. She shares that as a mom her children are her grounding force, her heart and her greatest inspiration. Naming the wine after them made the journey deeply personal for her. It’s also a tribute to legacy, love and values that she wants to pour into everything she creates-intention, heart and connection.
Choosing the wine to be organic was non-negotiable, the actress shares. Purity is important not just the grapes, but dry farming. Organic wine reflects care for the earth, respect for the craft and commitment to health and wellness. It’s wine the way nature intended. Clean and free from anything artificial.
The songstress shared she enjoyed watching the wine process and that she was involved in everything from tasting and refining the blends to collaborating on creating labels. She says it’s a process much like making music, it must reflect authenticity. She shares seeing Kazaisu come to life felt like watching a vision bloom. She also shares that a “wow” moment for her was when she first tasted the blend. The moment was surreal and everything she had hoped for. Smooth, elegant with a finish that lingers. Another “wow” moment was realizing how expensive the process is. She was surprised to learn that there is a very small peer of women vintners which gave her a whole new level of respect for winemakers.
The songstress shared she wanted the wine bottle design to reflect the quality and at the same time to stand out. She wanted the bottle to be as elegant, beautiful and elevated as the wine inside. She shares she and her husband brought the vision to life with color, the silhouette, the glass cork and a design as artful as it is functional, sourcing the highest quality of which she’s very proud.
Deborah shares she’s working on curated tasting events and intimate experiences that allow people to connect with her and the story behind Kazaisu. She’s in the process of expanding their footprint so more people can access it more easily. Stay tuned, some exciting things are coming!
