The holiday season is among us and we couldn’t think of a better way to bring it in than to blast Christmas music every chance we get. Singer, model, and music producer Demi Grace has just released a three-song Christmas EP that includes holiday classics such as “Winter Wonderland,” “Silent Night,” and “This Christmas.” Grace is on quite the roll just before the year closes out. Her latest single, “Tired of You” is quickly on its way to becoming Gold-certified.
Tell us about your new Christmas EP.
It’s called Demi Xmas and its a playoff of Merry Christmas (laughs). It is just a short compilation of some of my favorite Christmas songs. I’ve always been the type of person that would listen to Christmas music all-year-round. I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas project, single, album so this was my first time taking a stab at it.
What is your favorite track from the EP and why?
“This Christmas” is my favorite! Donny Hathaway’s version of “This Christmas” is just phenomenal. It is the track that I’ve listened to the most before I went into the studio to create it. I don’t have a lot of experience doing cover songs so I religiously listened to my favorite version of whatever song I was going to do. Donny Hathaway’s version is just untouched. This may sound crazy but when I was listening to his version, I could kind of feel his spirit through it. I could feel his energy as he was recording it. That was what motivated me while I recorded the record so that is another reason why the track is my favorite as well.
What’re you looking forward to most this holiday season?
I’m looking forward to spending time with my family. Unfortunately, I feel like Thanksgiving was the only holiday that my family and I were able to spend together for the rest of this year. My sister, Deborah is still filming. My older sister is going to be in Africa during Christmas. So if we do get to spend Christmas together, that would be awesome because I have such a great time when I’m with my sisters, my mom, and cousins.
Are there any upcoming projects you could give us insight into?
I’m always in creation mode. It depends on how I feel and what people want. You can expect a surprise drop from me. I’m not one to take a five-year hiatus or anything (laughs). Just expect more music!
