On Thursday, December 13th the 39th annual New York Women in Film & Television MUSE Awards Gala took place. The NYWIFT has been commemorating outstanding women who hold roles both in front and behind of the camera for over 40 years.
The event was hosted by Nancy Giles, an actress and CBS commentator.
This year’s honorees included:
As a writer, producer, comedian, and disability activist received the Loreen Arbus Changemaker Award.
A director in both film and television for shows such as Younger, 30 Rock, The Walking Dead, and Mr. Robot, Tricia was honored with the Nancy Malone Directing Award.
Sarah Jessica Parker (actress and producer), Ellen Burstyn (one of few holding Triple Crown of Acting – multiple Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award), Lisa Nishimura (Academy and Emmy Award winner/Vice President of Original Documentary and Comedy Programming at Netflix)
NYWIFT’s Executive Director was honored by the New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment with the Made in NY Award.
