Jordan Peele is officially an Oscar winner!

Congratulations Jordan Peele on a well-deserved win, what an amazing achievement!

Last night at the 90th Academy Awards, Jordan Peele’s Get Out won the award for Best Original Screenplay.

The audience went absolutely berserk as his name was announced by presenter, Nicole Kidman.

Peele’s accomplishment is a historic win! He has become the very first African-American screenwriter to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in the 90-year span of the award show.

The nominees of this category were Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Great Gerwig (Lady Bird), Guillermo Del Toro and Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water), and Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri).

In addition to his historic win, Get Out was also in the running for Best Picture, Best Lead Actor for Daniel Kalluya, and Best Director for Mr. Peele himself.
