At just 15-years-old, Lexi grew an amazing following on her YouTube channel for her collection of sneakers, her challenges with her father titled, Lexi vs. Dad, but more importantly her kind-hearted, fun personality. In this exclusive interview with the highly beloved, young infleuncer, we had the opportunity to get to know just who Lexi is, her future plans, and so much more!

Tell us about yourself. How did you get onto the YouTube community?

I am a 15-year-old kid (will be 16 on April 18th) trying to live my best life as a student first and a video creator second. I have always had an interest in doing YouTube videos.  My older sister created a channel when she was 12 and she made American Girl doll videos. I used to help her and I really enjoyed it. Before I actually started my YouTube channel, I would prop my phone up and pretend to film my own videos.

I have always wanted to do YouTube but my mom was very hesitant at first. My dad convinced her to let me try it out and we began with a series of challenges called Lexi vs. Dad.  My growth on YouTube really started when I posted my Sneaker Collection in 2018. If you watch my videos, you will know that I absolutely love Jordans and I collect them. In a few days, I realized that I wasn’t the only one that loved Jordans and enjoyed watching sneaker collection videos.  I went from a couple hundred to over 10,000 subscribers in less than a week and that is when my channel began to grow!

You have over 500K subscribers! What do you think makes you stand out?

I believe I have a unique personality that includes a little bit of everything. I try not to let pressure from my peers or social media get to me. When I sit in front of the camera to film I am able to be my true self and not try to be someone else just for views. I challenge myself everyday to push myself to be the best version of me. And I truly believe that comes across in my content.

How are you able to stay so positive in the world of the entertainment?

My main purpose is to create content that will put a smile on my viewer’s faces…being negative won’t help me accomplish that goal. Keeping a positive attitude takes focus and hard work.  I have to be intentional about it and try to surround myself with positive people and energy. I try to always assume positive intent no matter what. If you have seen any of my room tour videos, you will see that I have a lot of artwork with inspirational quotes and positive vibes.  Prayer is also an important part of my daily life. When I am faced with tough obstacles and negative energy, I take it to the Lord in prayer.

What is your favorite kind of video to create for your audience?

I like doing a variety of videos and I do my best to make videos that my subscribers want to see. However, my favorite videos to create are vlogs. I love them because my audience can truly get an inside look on my everyday life, quirks and all, and learn more about me. They get to watch me be me!

What do you hope to accomplish as you grow older?

I definitely plan on going to college to get a business degree.  I believe that having a solid background in business will be beneficial to me whether I take an entrepreneurial route or if I get a job in the commercial world.  I think i will be able to zero in on exactly what I want to do as I get older and start taking college classes. Aside from going to college, I definitely plan on continuing to be a content creator in the YouTube community and hopefully become a recording artist – I love to sing!

Sheen Magazine is the Ultimate Beauty Guide for the Modern Day Woman, do you mind sharing a few of your favorite beauty products?

My beauty routine is pretty simple right now but I definitely have a few beauty products that I rely on everyday.  I can’t live without my Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Concealer and the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in the shade Rum for my highlight. I also love lipgloss!  Right now I am loving Buxom Lip Plumping Lip Gloss in the color Starr and I always have a couple of tubes of clear lip gloss from the Dollar Store stashed away in my purse!

What can we expect to see from Lexi in the years to come?

You can expect to see a more stronger and better version of my current self as I continue this YouTube journey.  I am always open to learning and growing from my experiences and the feedback that I receive. My goal is to definitely continue to be a content creator and reach one million subscribers in the next year.  I absolutely love making videos and engaging with my subscribers and followers.I also plan on doing more with my music – I write music and I love to sing. Maybe you will hear something from me one day!
