Mariah Carey is gracing us with new music and ventures this year as she announced yesterday on social media that she will be releasing a new album and launching her own label, Butterfly MC Records, through her current label EPIC Records. The singer shared on Instagram the excitement to get started on her 15th album, which will become her first studio album since 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.
Today also marks the 12th year anniversary of her comeback album, The Emancipation of Mimi, released on April 12, 2005 which was hailed the album of the decade with hit songs like “Shake It Off”, “We Belong Together”, “It’s Like That”, and featured appearances by industry giants like Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, and Twista.
Carey will be returning to Las Vegas this summer to close out her “Mariah #1 To Infinity” exclusive at Caesar’s Palace and will be joining Lionel Richie on the All the Hits Tour in mid-July. The Emancipation of Mimi was the best selling album of 2005 and we can only expect that the diva with godly vocals will surprise us yet again with another hit album produced under her new label, Butterfly MC Records.
