Missy Elliott has just made history!

It has been announced that rapper, Missy Elliott will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Elliott became the first female rapper to receive this honor.

Elliott has released many of our favorite hits such as “Work It,” “Get Ur Freak On,” “The Rain” and many more. She has earned four Grammys, many multi-platinum certifications, and over 30 million record sales!

Elliott is also a prolific producer and collaborator. Shes worked with Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Ciara, Beyoncé, and more!

The complete list of inductees includes Dallas Austin, Tom T. Hall, John Prine, Jack Tempchin, and Yusuf/Cat Stevens.

Congratulations to the Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2019!

The group will be inducted on June 13th.
