Are you ready to celebrate the life of music legend, Aretha Franklin? Well, Hollywood is and we couldn’t be more excited.
The Queen of Soul passed away just last week at 76-years-old and now a star-studded group of performers will join together and celebrate the late singer on August 31st at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan.
As previously announced, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, and Yolanda Adams will perform at the memorial. We have just learned that Faith Hill, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, and Jennifer Holiday are also expected to perform.
Jennifer Hudson will also perform “Amazing Grace.”
In addition, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Ronald Isley, and Aretha Franklin’s son, Edward Franklin will be involved in the celebration.
Marvin Sapp, Vanessa Armstrong, and the Aretha Franklin Choir are featured in the program.
The Queen of Soul passed away on Thursday, August 16th at her home in Detroit after battling with pancreatic cancer.
In addition to the celebration of Aretha Franklin’s life, another tribute concert will take place later this fall. Showbiz411 reported that the event is titled, “Clive Davis Presents: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin” and will take place at Madison Square Garden on November 14. A lineup will be announced in the upcoming months.
