SHEEN Magazine hit the red carpet for the premiere screening of Octavia Spencer’s new thriller “Ma.”

The new psychological thriller follows a lonely middle-aged woman (Octavia Spencer) who befriends some teenagers (Maggie Silvers, Corey Fogelmanis, McKaley Miller, Kyanna Simone, Gianni Paolo, Andrew Matthew Welch) and decides to let them party in the basement of her home. They have no problem with the house rules: one kid has to stay sober, they aren’t allowed to curse, they can NEVER go upstairs, and they must also refer to her as Ma.

But the teen’s are in for a rude awakening after Ma’s hospitality starts to shift into obsession and Ma’s hangout basement goes from the best place in town to the worst place on Earth.

We caught up with Spencer along with other members of the cast including Allison Jenney and found out just what viewers can expect to learn after seeing “Ma.” Jenney also spoke about how happy she was to work with Spencer again following their award-winning performances in the 2011 blockbuster hit “The Help.”

With Octavia Spencer starring and executive producing “Ma,” she had a lot to say about the importance of women’s voices amid the controversy over the abortion ban.

Be sure to go see “Ma” when it hits theaters on May 31.
