Bursting out on the acting scene with his portrayal of “Anthony” in the Blockbuster comedy Barbershop 3: The Next Cut, Torion Sellers is an entertainer to keep an eye on in 2016. Before he made his way in to the hearts of movie goers everywhere, Torion was heating up the music charts with playful ballads like “Smile” and his version of former label mate Drake’s 2011 hit “Marvin’s Room”.
Now, he has released his newest single since parting ways with Young Money entitled “Flavas”. “The song is inspired by all the beautiful women around the world; all shades and sizes,” Torion explained. Born right outside the city of Atlanta, Torion started singing at the tender age of nine. He got his start by joining his father and his band on stage after much convincing and since then he created a name for himself in the industry and even signed to Lil Wayne’s record label, Young Money.
Like many artists, Torion is highly influenced by the iconic Michael Jackson. “I look at Michael for his passion. Everything he was, he was passionate about,” he tells me. Torion goes on to mention that Chris Brown and Beyoncé are some of the top acts that he would love to collaborate with in the future.
Up next for this 18-year-old heartthrob is the “We Got Next” tour set for this summer. His ultimate goal for this year is making his new up-tempo single “Flavas” number one on the Billboard charts. With a blockbuster hit and a hot new record hitting the airwaves, Torion Sellers is seeing to it that he stays on everyone’s radar.
